Nader: It's Hillary

Don't bother asking me how he knows, or thinks he knows, but Ralph Nader is quoted in the Politico as saying that Hillary Clinton will take the Vice Presidential spot.

The smart pick, according to Nader, is Hillary Rodham Clinton. Nader phoned into Politico Tuesday afternoon to offer his prediction that a surprise nod to Clinton is actually what Obama has in mind--never mind the talk of mistrust between the Clintons and Obama.

"He just has to swallow hard and do what JFK did" in picking rival Lyndon Johnson in 1960, said the liberal activist and maverick presidential candidate.

According to Nader's logic, Obama may dislike Hillary, but will conclude he has no choice but to get over it if he hopes to leave next week's convention in Denver with a unified party and a decent shot against John McCain in the fall: "The polls show 25 percent of her supporters have not gotten on board."

He was not at all clear why he thinks it is her. Perhaps he just wants to make news. We'll see.

actually its not 25 its 28.... (none / 0)

that said - nader is a tool - so why are we listening to him now?

Re: actually its not 25 its 28.... (1.00 / 1)

Depending on the poll, I've seen it as low as 10% crybaby assholes who need to be put in timeout

i dont think... (2.00 / 2)

that calling 28% of 18 million people crybabies (see pew aug 13) is a winning strategy.  and i would wager a guess is that this attitude is what put that number that high to begin with.

Re: i dont think... (1.50 / 2)

I'm so sick of that whining and that line of attack from someone "on our side". Yes, if these idiots are willing to put McCain in the White House because some people picked on them during the primaries (which actually, I only wrote defending Hillary diaries at Kos during those wars) instead of actually defending what they claim to stand for, they are far more than crybabies. Seriously, grow up!!!! It's been 3 months, there is no winning with these people short of Barack conceding, which ain't happening, stop defending people willing to throw this country away in a hissy fit, it's beneath a rational human being.

again. (none / 0)

i have no idea what people who think 'im so sick of these people...' type statements achieve.  does what you are sick of matter more than those who are sick of whatever they are....  if you care about the democrats winning - your patience for people who are not on board is irrelevant.

and you certainly are not going to be winning hearts and minds when you berate and talk down to people.  im sorry if the polls are not what you and i would like to see - but they are real - pretending they are not or criticizing the people sampled (as was done it in the primary) aint gonna fly.

Re: again. (2.00 / 1)

And I don't know what people who defend the dregs of the Democratic party hope to do by coddling a bunch of people who would ruin their own country due to their hurt ego's...So I guess we're at an impasse. maybe one will be reached and they will get the mental help they obviously desperately need

Re: Nader: It's Hillary (1.40 / 5)

Obama is too stubborn to admit he needs Hillary.

Re: Nader: It's Hillary (1.00 / 5)

And Hillary was too stubborn to not concede gracefully at first, instead throwing the kitchen sink, and on and on we shall go with the silliness that does nothing to ensure we don't have the most belligent president in history take the reigns...

My comment was made in jest, hence my referencing the own silliness of my sentence within said post. I guess that's not enough to let people know I knew what my argument was being ;)

Re: Nader: It's Hillary (none / 0)

The only reason Obama can't pick Hillary is that she is on film bashing him on dozens of different occasions.

I do hope he picks her, but if he doesn't I am sure that was a major reason why.

Re: Nader: It's Hillary (none / 0)

If Obama picks Hillary, McCain and the Swiftboaters to come have a load of antiObama propaganda to hit him with. And I can just imagine what the VP debate would be like. And just who can get Bill Clinton to shut his mouth?

DOn't ask for trouble. Nader's projection is just wishful thinking from an adversary.

He's absolutely right (none / 0)

It's a test of whether he really has what it takes to win.

There is only correct thing that Nader said (none / 0)

None of the other candidates would add anything. Except perhaps for that Nunn guy. Which worries me that Obama will pick that gay-basher.

Re: Nader: It's Hillary (none / 0)

Why is nobody talking about how sad it is that Ralph Nader called Politico like an excited puppy to give them a vague prediction? It's probably even sadder, I bet he actually called actual news outlets first and they didn't care.
